In 1997 on the Oder, 2002 on the Elbe and 2005 in the foothills of the Alps – flooding causes major damage time and time again. And it is usually followed by fevered discussions about causes and better protection against flooding.

The aim of the travelling exhibition entitled “Flooding a Natural Phenomenon”, organized by the administration of Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve and Allianz’s Environmental Foundation, is to objectively look at what is often emotionally discussed and to inform visitors about flooding based on facts – its origins, consequences for man and nature and ways to reduce damage.

The exhibition consists of 28 panels and 2 active models.
